FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio (WJW) -- A Fairview Park teen reported missing earlier this week was found safe in Cleveland on Wednesday morning.
A Parma business owner, while on her way to work, spotted the 16-year-old boy walking along West 117th Street near Linnet Avenue at about 9 a.m., recognizing him from social media posts regarding his disappearance, according to an update from Fairview Park police.
She stopped and talked to the teen near a Cleveland fire station. She and firefighters offered to help him, but he refused help and walked away, according to the release.
They then called Cleveland police, who found him near the intersection of West 118th Street and Lorain Avenue, according to the release. He was later turned over to Fairview Park police and then reunited with his family.
Investigators said he left home at about 4:30 p.m. on Monday, July 8 after getting in an argument with his family. At the time, police said, he was last seen at about 5 p.m. on West 220th Street, walking toward Lorain Road.
According to Fairview police, officers searched for the teen with family and friends, but they weren't able to find him.
The teen was seen in Cleveland on Tuesday, July 9, at about 3 p.m. near West 25th Street and Superior Viaduct, by the St. Malachi Center, police said.
"We have no reason to believe [the teen] is in imminent danger but would like to find him safe," the department said in a previous media release.
